SCAM ALERT: safetrade-escrow.net is NOT us — phishing clone, do NOT log in

Update: registrar suspended the domain ~2h ago. They'll spin up a new one within 48h guaranteed. Stay paranoid — check the URL bar every time.

First trade ever — opened escrow, MM hasn't shown up, normal?

Normal. Auto-assign runs once the escrow tx hits the confirm threshold (usually 1-3 confirmations on ETH, longer on BTC). Under $100 deals are lower priority in the MM queue too — typical wait is 30-90 min. You'll get a system message when one is assigned.

Anyone else getting bombarded by reseller lowballs the second they post?

We're implementing a DM rate limit for accounts under 5 vouches. Should cut the bot spam by ~70%. Rolling out next week.

SCAM ALERT: safetrade-escrow.net is NOT us — phishing clone, do NOT log in

Urgent: safetrade-escrow.net (note the hyphen) is a phishing clone of our site. It scrapes our listings, copies our CSS, and sends fake 'escrow requested' emails to sellers. If you receive an email asking you to 'verify your trade' by logging in at a hyphenated domain, it's a credential harvest. Our ONLY domain is the one in your address bar right now. We never email login links. Bookmark the site, don't trust email links.

Seller vouched, I released escrow, then they chargebacked the crypto. What now?

Agreed. 24h holding period for first-time payment methods is going into effect next week. Will slow things down but kills this attack.

SCAM ALERT: @SkinKingg — pulled the family-share trick on me, screens inside

Account banned, IP + payment fingerprint flagged. Thanks for the report and the screens. Reminder: 'escrow is a scam tax' is literally the #1 line in the scammer phrasebook. If you ever hear it, end the conversation.

Seller sent 'revenue proof' that was literally inspect-elemented. Screens inside.

We see this weekly. Another red flag: sellers who offer 'screenshots with timestamp' but refuse screen share because 'my internet is too slow for video'. If they can upload 4K screenshots they can share a 720p screen. It's a stall tactic.

WTS: SaaS micro — $620 MRR, AI form builder, full stack handover. Asking $18k

For SaaS handovers over $10k we strongly recommend the multi-stage release schedule (escrow released in 3 tranches: post-code, post-Stripe, post-30d revenue confirm). Reach out before opening the trade and we'll set it up.

What's the safest crypto for escrow right now? BTC too slow, ETH gas is brutal

From the moderation side: ETH and BTC are still the most dispute-friendly because chain analysis is mature. SOL is fine but we see more 'sent to wrong address' mistakes. USDT-Tron we accept but be aware Tron fees are 'zero' because the network is heavily centralized — if something goes wrong there's less recourse. My pick: ETH L2 (Arbitrum/Optimism) if both parties have wallets for it. $0.05 gas, 2-min finality.

WTS: Canva Pro team admin invite, 8 seats open, $35/seat/year

Worth noting: if Canva does ban the team, escrow doesn't cover TOS violations on the platform side. We can verify the invite works at handoff, but we can't guarantee the account stays active. Make sure both parties understand that before funding.

WTS: TikTok Shop affiliate account, $1.2k/mth avg commissions, US-based — BIN $2,800

Reminder: TikTok Shop accounts require a clean SSN/TIN handoff or the new owner can't withdraw. Make sure the MM verifies tax identity transfer docs before releasing escrow.

MM queue is 90+ min for sub-$200 trades right now, heads up

Confirmed — we're short-staffed on MMs this weekend (2 out sick). Sub-$200 trades are deprioritized in the auto-queue. Should clear by Monday. If it's urgent, ping staff with the trade ID and we'll try to expedite.

PSA: someone is impersonating staff MMs on Telegram — same avatar, diff handle

Already in the next release — MM messages will have a distinct color + badge. Should ship within ~10 days.

Guide: how I report digital asset sales on my taxes without getting audited

We can provide a yearly trade summary CSV for tax purposes. Open a ticket and we'll export your escrow history. Doesn't replace your own records but it's a good backup.

Seller vouched, I released escrow, then they chargebacked the crypto. What now?

This is a new vector we've seen twice now. Seller uses a custodial exchange (Coinbase, Binance) to send the escrow deposit. Because they don't control the private keys, they can file a 'sent to wrong address' or 'fraud' claim with the exchange and get the exchange to claw it back from the escrow wallet. We're updating our TOS to ban custodial-exchange sends for escrow. Use a self-custody wallet (MetaMask, Phantom, etc) only. For your case: we're banning the seller and blacklisting their payment fingerprint, but the funds are likely gone. Sorry.

PSA: someone is impersonating staff MMs on Telegram — same avatar, diff handle

Heads up to everyone: there's a group using staff avatars + near-identical usernames (extra underscore, swapped 0/o, etc.) on Telegram and Discord to phish people mid-trade. They wait until you open a trade here, then DM you off-platform pretending to be your assigned MM and ask you to 'verify' escrow by sending crypto to their address. Real MMs ONLY communicate inside the trade chat on this site. We don't have a Telegram. We don't have a Discord support channel. If anyone DMs you claiming to be staff anywhere else, it's a scam.

Fake 'escrow completed' emails with release links — don't click them

Confirmed scam. We don't send 'release' emails at all — the release button is only inside the trade chat, and it requires 2FA. Any email claiming to be us with a CTA link is fake. Forward them to abuse@ourdomain and we'll chase the domain registration.

Guide: how to tell if engagement stats are AI-generated/faker

Adding to official FAQ. If a seller refuses a live screen share or their 'dashboard' is a self-hosted tool you've never heard of, treat it as a red flag and report the listing.

WTB: clean 4L .com, brandable, no hyphens/numbers — up to $8k

Quick note since this comes up: when you do find one, run the archive.org check + Google site: search BEFORE escrow funds. We've had two disputes this month where the domain was blacklisted by Google and the buyer didn't catch it until after transfer. Not a fun ticket to resolve.

Logo commission TOS template — steal mine, save yourself a dispute

Pinning this in the Guides section. If anyone wants their own TOS reviewed before posting it as a template, ping staff and we'll sanity check it.

[READ FIRST] Official MM list + escrow process — don't skip this

Quick reminder since we keep getting tickets about this. Only staff MMs are listed on the /staff page. If someone DMs you offering to MM your deal, it's a scam — full stop. We don't reach out first, and we never take payment outside the on-site escrow. Process is simple: open a trade → agree on terms in chat → 10% escrow gets sent to the wallet we generate → staff MM gets auto-assigned. That's it. Anyone telling you to wire BTC to a random address 'for verification' is fishing.
