  Disable BEFORE. If the buyer logs in and sees active family sharing, Valve sometimes flags it as account sharing/selling. Clear it 48h prior to handoff.

  Done 40+ Steam transfers. Here's what works: 1) Change email on the seller's device BEFORE the buyer logs in. Valve tracks 'new device + new email same day' as high risk. 2) Use Steam Guard backup codes during handoff, don't wait for SMS. 3) Buyer should add a payment method within 24h — accounts with no payment method attached are more likely to get review-flagged. 4) Don't change the profile name or avatar for 72h. Drastic profile changes post-transfer trigger automated locks. Follow this and I've had zero locks in the last 12 months.
